A new era of the Mega Evolution block is about to begin! The Chaos Rising expansion, featuring the legendary Mega Greninja ex, has been officially revealed. This will be the fourth set in the English Mega Evolution series and promises to bring a massive dose of strategy and spectacular art to your collections.
The official release is scheduled for May 22, 2026, and Prerelease events will take place between May 9 and 17.
Set Details and Elite Trainer Box Promo
An important update for collectors concerns the promo included in the Elite Trainer Box (ETB). We can confirm that the Illustration Rare version of Fennekin from the Japanese set Ninja Spinner will be the promo card for our ETB version. It will be removed from the main set to become an exclusive bonus.
The choice of Fennekin was strategic: the Illustration Rare version of Froakie was not used because it is part of a connected illustration (puzzle pieces) alongside Frogadier and Mega Greninja ex. Keeping Froakie in the main set ensures the integrity of this triple artwork.
What Does the Chaos Rising Expansion Contain?
The set will consist of 122 cards and is a near-exact replica of the Japanese set Ninja Spinner (which launches today, March 13). Here is the confirmed structure:
-
Over 120 cards in total.
-
Five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex: Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Greninja ex, Mega Floette ex, Mega Dragalge ex, and most likely, Mega Gallade ex.
-
Five Pokémon ex: Beedrill ex, Gourgeist ex, Cobalion ex, Cinccino ex, and Krookodile ex.
-
Collection Rarities: 11 Illustration Rare Pokémon, 18 Ultra Rare, and 6 Special Illustration Rare.
